Walking with Enzo

Move over, Jasper!  Elodie's got her eyes on Enzo these days!  This past weekend we went to a baby shower for our friend's Louise and Jason who are expecting a baby girl on 12/12/12!  Elodie and Enzo were super excited because they knew they'd get to see eachother!  We all had fun at the party, and Elodie especially liked helping Louise open presents and decorating a onesie for the baby.  Afterwards, we walked our friend's to the subway and they snapped some super cute pictures!

Pumpkin Pickin' with the Feeley's

Last weekend, on a cool and cloudy Columbus Day, we met up in Connecticut with the Feeley Family!  Christine, Chris, Evan, Elijah + little bun in the oven!  We hadn't seen Evan in about 10 months (eek!) and hadn't even ever met Elijah who is already 7+ months old!  It was great to see them, and Elodie got alot pretty well with the boys! 

 

It's also fun to look back at our pumpkin picking adventures over the years....

30 Month Check-Up

Elodie turned 2 and a half on October 4!  She knew this meant a trip to the doctor, and we prepped her well for the visit (last time she FREAKED OUT about the scale, and the nurse, and the doctor.)  But this time, she was prepared!  And her BFF Jasper just happened to have a flu shot appointment at the same time and I think his presense helped keep Elodie calm.  He even showed her how to stand on the scale by herself! 

 

So, at 30 months, AKA 2.5 years old, Elodie measures in at 36.5", dipping slightly to the 69th percentile.  She weighs in at 28 lbs, 13 oz, almost 2 pounds heavier than last month!  She's in the 53rd percentile for weight.  Doctor said she's doing well, but we knew that already:)

 

After the appointment, we went to Betty Bakery with Jasper and ate too many cookies and espresso cups of milk!  Fun time for everyone!

 

Grammie's Birthday Surprise Party!

The most exciting thing that we did while on vacation was have a SUPRISE party for Grammie's 60th Birthday!  We surprised her a couple days before heading out to Long Island by having Great-Grandma Helen show up in Hartford!  And then again, the last weekend of vacation we suprised her with a visit from Great-Uncle Bob, Great-Aunt Anna, Amanda, Great-Aunt Kelly and Fred!  We can't publish the video of that surprise due to expletives....  let's just say she was shocked and happy!  On our last night we had a clam bake at the house.  It was delicious and fun!  Elodie was so excited for the big surprise and especially the CAKE!  She stayed up late - maybe 9:30ish for the cake, but as soon as we sat down to take a bike she said "I want to go to bed now!"  And didn't even want one bite of cake!

Greenport Carousel

Oh my, how you've grown Elodie Grace!  As is the tradition, we went to the Greenport Carousel while out on Long Island this year.  So far, we have been every year since Elodie was born!

Riverhead Aquarium

OK, OK... it's been a month since we've been back from our vacation on the North Fork...  I'm finally posting some! The vacation was great!  I'll tell more in other posts - this one is about our rainy day visit to the Riverhead Aquarium.  Elodie had fun!

Durham Fair

This past weekend, we went to Connecticut to visit with the Leibenhaut's and Great-Grandma Norma.  On Saturday, we woke up early (as per usual) and made a quick trip to the Durham Fair before GiGi got up!  We used to go to the Durham Fair every year as kids, and I even brought Michael the first year we were dating, 2002!  It was pretty amazing to experience the Fair again with Elodie in tow!

And while she was scared to go down the curvy slide at the end of the Fun House by herself, she was not afraid to go for a spin on the the glittery cars ride by herself!  I got tears in my eyes watching her  ride this thing.  She was sooo happy and waved at us so enthusiastically each time she rode by!
