The Shake Shack was one of our favorite restaurants in Brooklyn, and site of our last dinner there before we moved. We were happy to learn that there was a Shake Shack 20 minutes away in New Haven, but we never made it there until last night! Still tasty, and now we have a big boy who loves to eat. We ordered him his own Shackburger!

Cooking with Elodie
Aunt Katie gave Elodie the "Mom and Me Cookbook" for Christmas and we tried our first recipe yesterday! It was called Fruity Fish Dip. We mashed up mango with yogurt and then made fruit skewers to dip in it. I've read that one way to get picky eaters to try more foods is to have them cook with you. Now, Elodie likes yogurt, and alot of fruit, but always refused to try mango. This time, she ate like half the mango before mixing and then refused to dip her fruit in the mango-yogurt we made! ah well... we had fun.
Does it look like a fish?

Christmas Morning
Dear Santa,
I've been good my whole year. Ethan's been good the whole year too. Merry Christmas and I hope you like the cookies that we'll make for you. I really hope you get me a Rudolph stuffed animal that has a button that lights his nose and a red sled.
Love,
Elodie
Santa delivered everything she wanted! And family filled in the gaps with even more stuff she didn't even know she wanted! She LOVED everything. Ethan was a little overwhelmed, but had fun.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas
The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugarplums danced in their heads. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...
With hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there!
Happy Christmas to all and to all a Good Night!

Christmas Eve
Elodie is SUPER EXCITED that it's Christmas Eve! We sent a letter to Santa and she's been a very good girl this year. We made cookies last night and will set out a plate for Santa, with carrots for the reindeer. This whole week is Pajama Week at school, so both kids wore their Christmas PJ's. Her's a picture of them all ready for school. Elodie is the reindeer and Ethan is sitting on her because he's Santa!
Merry Christmas to all!
Winter gala
Elodie's class had a Winter Gala at school last week. They sang 4 songs that they practiced for weeks and had snacks and crafts. The kids were so excited, especially Elodie.
Snow day
We had two little snow storms in one week during December. The kids need snow clothes! (wink wink, Santa...)
My little snow angels:
Christmas Tree
In the suburbs, you just have to drive 5 minutes the Christmas Tree "Place" and then they strap it to the roof of your car and you DRIVE it home! No more lugging the tree down the sidewalks of Brooklyn like last year!

Mason
Elodie and her boy Mason at a birthday party.... She was miserable until cake time when they sat next to each other!
1 year stats
This little guy loves to visit the doctor!
At one year old, he weighed in at 22 pounds 3 ounces and 30 1/4 inches. But he's had a growth spurt since then and doesn't fit in any 12 month old clothes anymore!
