Bagel Face!

Almost every weekend that we stay in Brooklyn, we go to our local coffee shop, Building on Bond for bagels, croissants and coffee.  It's a ritual we've been doing since she was just a few weeks old and is such a good marker for how much she's grown!  We rememeber how exciting it was when she would just kick her feet in the baby bjorn as we would watch the world cup with other patrons.  Then she would start to eat a little bit of croissant.  Then she started walking around exploring.  Then she'd eat the croissant all by herself.  Then she didn't care about eating and just wanted to play and make a mess with the lite brite in the back room.  These days, she loves to sit with us while we all eat bagels and we can actually all relax and have conversations, for at least 10 minutes anyways!  Here are some recent pictures of her bagel face, participating in favorite our morning ritual!

the Ice Cream Solution for Everything

Last weekend, Aunt Ali and Rick babysat while we went out to dinner and a friend's birthday party.  El had a bout of separation anxiety but Ali cured it with a trip to get pink ice cream with sprinkles!  Michael and I are co-writing a book called "Parenting: the Ice Cream Solution for Everything."

 

 

Cousin Nick Visits!

A couple weeks ago cousin Nick came to visit!  We had lots of fun and Elodie looooved showing her cousin all her favorite things in Brooklyn like the park, the bookstore, pizza, her apartment, Mitzi, mommy's belly, ice cream, etc....

First Day of Pre-School!

Monday was Elodie's first day of her new school!  We call it the big girl pre-school.  So far she has been super excited about it, but exhausted.  She's been doing better with the transition that we thought.  There are so many fun things for her to do and learn at this new school.  Her BFF Jasper started the same day she did and soon enough, in Septemeber, her old pals Clara, Cormac and Indiana will be joining her!

North Carolina!

So this blog post is super late... but we went to North Carolina for July 4th!  We spent 5 days with the McGuirl family and all of Daddy's college buds.  Elodie loved being in the mountains! I think playing in the freezing cold creek was the highlight for her.  But she still keeps talking about "going to Carolina!"  Here are a few pictures to sum up the trip.  (Had to narrow down from over a hundred pictures...)  Thanks to Ben, Erica, Asher and Mr. & Mrs. McGuirl for a fabulous vacation!
